One-to-one Training

If you would like individual one-to-one legal English training please get in touch. I’ve taught lawyers from many jurisdictions and in many different legal areas in one-to-one lessons since 2013. I speak Italian and have an understanding of Portuguese and French, and am used to dealing with lawyers whose first language I do not speak. Here are some examples of who I’ve helped:

Job interviews

I’ve helped many lawyers in job applications and interviews for lateral and vertical hires:

  • a senior tax partner at one of the largest professional services networks in the world to prepare for equity partner job interviews which led to successful promotion;
  • an IP and technology lawyer and boutique law firm owner to prepare for job interviews to successfully become partner of a brand new IP department in a leading international law firm;
  • a banking law associate working in a national law firm to secure a position in an elite international law firm.

Dispute resolution

I’ve helped lawyers and arbitrators in many matters related to dispute settlement:

  • an Israeli litigator and  boutique law firm owner to train to do cross-examination in English representing shareholders in a class action regarding a reverse-triangle merger;
  • a German partner specialising in antitrust to successfully prepare for settlement negotiations with American counterparties in a large-scale car manufacturer cartel case;
  • a Kuwaitee arbitrator to prepare for CIARB exams and writing of arbitration-related research papers in English for publication in major law journals.

Contract drafting and negotiations

I’ve helped lawyers understand contracts better, improve their drafting skills, and become better negotiators:

  • a Brazilian senior lawyer specialising in real estate law in understanding and drafting contracts for commercial sale, purchase, and lease agreements;
  • a Japanese IP lawyer in understanding and improving contract drafting skills with pharmaceutical contracts and patents;
  • a French in-house lawyer at a major car manufacturer in preparing for negotiations for sale of goods, NDAs, and sponsorship agreements.

Other legal skills

I’ve helped students and lawyers become confident with legal English when using a range of  legal skills:

  • a Brazillian in-house lawyer at a large Brazillian conglomerate to feel more confident speaking to clients  in business meetings and teleconference calls;
  • a Russian law student throughout her studies of law in English to understand matters better and pass exams;
  • a Polish lawyer in preparation to take the TOLES Exam;
  • a French lawyer nervous about speaking English to prepare for presenting and networking at a legal conference.
