Please note that some terminology in this episode has changed since it was recorded. Her Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service is now called His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service. The First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal structure is also no longer new; it was created under the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007 and began operating in 2008. For modern accuracy, tribunals are best described as specialist judicial bodies which decide disputes in particular areas of law.
