It assesses Legal English through grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension questions set in legal and professional contexts. It tests both general English ability and your ability to understand and use English in situations relevant to legal professionals.

These scores indicate your legal English level:

Basic: 0-25% | Pre-intermediate: 25-50% | Intermediate: 51-70% | Upper-intermediate: 71-85% | Advanced: 86-95% | Proficient: 96-100%

The test contains 40 questions. Types include: gap-fill, true or false, multiple-choice, matching, and rewrite. You have up to 90 minutes to complete this test.

No. The Legal English Level Test is a short screening test intended to give you an approximate indication of your level. It is not a formal CEFR examination or recognised language qualification.
