To Allege (verb)
Definition: To claim or assert that someone has done something illegal or wrong, often without proof or without proving yet.
Example: The claimant alleged that he had been unfairly dismissed.
Mistake alert!: Don’t confuse ‘To allege’ with ‘To prove’. ‘To allege’ is similar to claim or assert whereas ‘To prove’ is similar to show or evidence.
